NRA BASIC SAFETY - vs - Stoneknives Basic Safety Rules

Basic Gun Safety Rules

Although the NRA has complete gun safety rules available for specific types of firearm use (hunting and competition, for example), the following three rules are fundamental in any situation. Whether or not you own a gun, it is important to know these rules so that you may insist that others follow them.

  • Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction. Whether you are shooting or simply handling a gun, never point it at yourself or others.

Common sense will tell you which direction is the safest. Outdoors, it is generally safe to point the gun toward the ground, or, if you are at a shooting range, toward the target. Indoors, be mindful of the fact that a bullet can penetrate ceilings, floors, walls, windows, and doors.

  • Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot. When holding a gun, rest your trigger finger outside the trigger guard alongside the gun. Until you are actually ready to fire, do not touch the trigger.
  • Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use. If you do not know how to check to see if a gun is unloaded, leave it alone. Carefully secure it, being certain to point it safely and to keep your finger off the trigger, and seek competent assistance.

A Quiet Private Field at Dawn

AIG CEO Ed Liddy patriotically comes out of retirement for ONE dollar a year salary to expose the truth and try to correct it and Congress excoriates him for a measly 170 million in bonuses and says that Geithner, Dodd and Obama knew about this? After the treatment he received in the sacred halls of Congress yesterday even my well raised Grandmother's would allow him the pleasure of roundly cursing those Congress SOB's.

In a more civilized time a gentleman would have been allowed to challenge the political curs at a quiet private field at dawn.

9 PRINCIPLES - 12 VALUES

Glenn Beck 9 Principles 12 Values 912 Project The9project.com

A new movement is swelling in the USA as a response to the economic crisis and is headed by Glenn Beck. Called Project 912 Beck stressed the importance of 9 Principle and 12 values that he has lost in the U.S. . Glenn Beck thinks Americans have lost their way, and at 12 values must be restored before things can be improved.

Glenn Beck's The Nine Principles and 12 Values :

The Nine Principle

1. America is good.

2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.

3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.

4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.

5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.

6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.

7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.

8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.

9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

The 12 values Glenn Beck is telling Americans they must embrace are :

  • Honesty
  • Reverence
  • Hope
  • Thrift
  • Humility
  • Charity
  • Sincerity
  • Moderation
  • Hard Work

The U.S. radio and Fox News television host Glenn Beck on Friday the 13th launched a new website called the 912-project (The912Project.com). Glenn Beck unveiled the new website with a reference in the March 13 broadcast of Fox last night.

Glenn Beck says 9-12 Project "is designed to bring us back to where we were on September 12, 2001," when the America was "not obsessed with the red states, blue states or political parties." The project consists of nine "principles" and 12 "values". The top two principles: "America is good" and "I believe in God, and He is the Center of my life."

Others are statements about values like honesty, family law and "right to life." The only problem that caused the site to crash. Actual net The912project.com has caused confusion with some people think the Web site address is 912Project.com not, and find other mirror sites 912ProjectTest.com appear.

FROM STONEKNIVES

The only thing I am having a problem with is number 2, I believe in God, he's just not the center of my life....... But I'm working on that.

The 12 principal are fine too, but I've worked off of an older set, many of you will probably recognize them.
